The two sides are prepared to lock horns in the quarter-finals of this year’s Cheshire Senior Cup with The Bears, who remain in three cup competitions, looking to take one more step in the direction of silverware.

Stalybridge Celtic currently sit two divisions higher than Congleton however aren’t enjoying a good run of form. The Celts are currently seven games without a win, but it’ll be naive to think form place a part in cup matches.

Congleton’s Cheshire Senior Cup journey began with a 3-1 victory against Barnton at the Cleric Stadium, with goals from Richard Duffy, Rocco Fregapane and George Sankey confirming The Bears’ meeting with Stockport Town in the next round.

Another three goal performance, with a Tom Pope brace and a Darren Chadwick penalty confirming Congleton’s status in this year’s quarter-final.

Last time out, Richard Duffy’s side returned to winning ways in the league after going without a victory since Boxing Day. Goals from Duffy and Jones-Griffiths rewarded a dominant Bears display, setting the benchmark for what is required in order to step closer to silverware.

Be sure to get yourself down to the Cleric Stadium on Tuesday evening to support the boys on their Cheshire Senior Cup adventure.

Come on you Bears!
