It’s back to league business for Richard Duffy’s men as they look to gain ground on those above them in the table. Congleton currently sit in 6th place with a number of games in hand on every team above them.
Following two postponements due to the recent weather, The Bears will be looking to continue their impressive run of form that has seen them not drop a single point in the league since their trip to Kendal in late November.
The Bears face a Padiham side that currently sit in 15th place in the North West Counties Premier Division and haven’t won a game since the end of November.
Last time out, Congleton confirmed their status in last 16 of this year’s FA Vase with a dominant display over Pinchbeck United ten days ago.
Goals from Shakeel Jones-Griffiths, George Sankey, Ryan Read and Tom Pope was enough to set up a last 16 match against AFC Wulfrunians next month.
The confidence of The Bears is brimming at the moment and when asked about the feel-good factor within the changing room, manager Richard Duffy said:
“The boys have got the aura now when they go out on the pitch of ‘you’ve got to beat us’ and no one has been able to beat us at home yet so that’s a proud record to hold.”
Make sure to get yourself town to the Cleric Stadium to support the boys on Tuesday night as they look to close the gap on those above them in the league table.
Come on you Bears!
