Congleton Town welcome Wythenshawe Town to the Cleric Stadium on Saturday afternoon in The Bears’ penultimate home league game of the season.

Less than 48 hours ago, Richard Duffy’s side were defeated 5-3 in a thrilling contest against Charnock Richard.

But the hectic schedule Congleton are in means they can aim to bounce back to winning ways against Wythenshawe two days on.

The two sides met back in October, with Wythenshawe taking all three points. Pete Williams’ second-half strike wasn’t enough for The Bears to take anything back home.

Despite Vauxhall Motors becoming champions on Monday, Wythenshawe Town currently sit in 3rd place, one point behind 2nd place Avro, with the play offs still all to play for.

The Manchester outfit are unbeaten since the start of March and will be looking to climb into the play off places with a win at Congleton this Saturday.

As for The Bears, the Macron Cup finalists are enduring a tough spell in the league, losing their last four games, despite cup games seeming to be the main priority for the remainder of the season.

One week ago, Congleton secured their place in this year’s Macron Cup final and will be hoping to reach the final of the Cheshire Senior Cup on Monday too, with a win over League Two side Crewe Alexandra.

Be sure to get yourselves down to the Cleric Stadium to cheer the lads on this afternoon.

Kick off: 3pm

Come on you Bears!
