Squires Gate welcome The Bears to the Brian Addison Stadium full of confidence after The Blues recorded two impressive victories against Wythenshawe Town and FC Isle of Man, last week.

Congleton however, will be looking for an improvement after enduring a goalless draw with Avro, which came after a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Padiham which put an end to their immense unbeaten home record.

An outstanding performance from goalkeeper Dave Parton earned The Bears a point on Saturday in a game where Avro may rue the chances they missed.

Richard Duffy: “Superb. I said to the lads in the changing room that you’ve got Dave to thank for a point because without him we probably go behind.”

The two sides clashed at the Cleric Stadium in December, which saw Richard Duffy’s men come out victorious courtesy of goals from George Sankey and Ryan Read.

After Congleton’s stalemate with Avro last weekend, Duffy explained that a slight dip in league form is down to minor reasons and will be a reality check for his players:

“We’ll rest up over the weekend, we will watch how they play and see what we can put into our game.

“There’s lots that can change but they’re only small things we have gone from winning games and running over teams to becoming unstuck in a couple of games. It’s a reality check, let’s get back to basics.”

Come on you Bears!
